I welcome each one of you as we step into this new academic year, filled with hope and dreams of scaling new heights. I reminisce about the reopening day of the school after a rejuvenating summer vacation. The school management and the staff used to wait to welcome the students , to hear the laughter , cheers and shouts ringing through the corridors . Now the students are forced to stay home and teachers to use virtual mode to teach them. But we hope soon the good times will return and walking into the school will be nothing short of a celebration! We are going through a transformational experience in our lives. This unpredictable situation has made academics both challenging and demanding. Learning is unstoppable.
I admire teacher’s incredible efforts, the great innovations and new practices that they are pioneering to ensure that the education of their students is not hampered. But What we realise is that beyond the electronic connection, we need to connect emotionally — especially in this time of anxiety and uncertainty. The school has high aspirations for all its students. We see genius in every child and believe that their achievements are inevitably the result of a team effort involving school and parents. I strongly believe that this situation is indeed a stimulating and providing incredible opportunity to reinvent and upgrade ourselves. We hope our efforts from the unchartered territory will last beyond covid – 19, and will benefit Raphaelites for many years to come. Our school is journeying in a nonagenarian era and it ’s truly a moment of pride when I think about the glorious history of our school that spans across 93 years of loving service, dedication, commitment and achievements . Let’s not miss the possibility it presents to us to be heroic, combative and the ambassadors’ of change .The school and the stakeholders can be the beacon of hope for all humankind. I ask for your support as we strive for excellence in educating the next generation of courageous, mindful, visionary creators of a better and more sustainable future. Let‘s keep ascending anchored by strong values, and together we can shape humane citizens who are rooted in empathy, ethics, excellence, and collaboration. Perk up and keep the optimism surging. This too shall pass. God bless you all. Sr. Jancy Joseph SSpS Principal
Dear Parents and Raphaelites, At the very outset, I would like to send you warm greetings from the school. During this unprecedented and inconceivable period of Global affliction I can only hope and pray that all of you are safe and healthy. Who would have thought about this emergency situation that is continuing to impact the world so drastically? The COVID -19 outbreak has brought life to a virtual standstill! However, it is useful to remind yourselves and your children about the remarkable resilience of the human kind to overcome adversities and to create new equilibriums. Therefore despite what is going on, we can still focus on the positives. To meet the challenges that is staring at us with much of the world locked in to contain and limit the damages arising from COVID 19, St. Raphael’s has been quite proactive and has developed and introduced online academic modules for our students. Study plans and notes specific to each class are transmitted on line.
We are happy to note that parents and the entire families of our students are adapting to the evolving situation while at the same time keeping the children safe. Our teachers are in constant communication with the student’s to help them with their assignments. I like to acknowledge their commitment and care for the institution and students. I am proud of our teachers who are navigating new territories and learning new things. It is very important to seek earnestly, Divine intervention for bringing healing to the world. So, I end this message with the following prayer which you might like to recite as frequently as you can. “Almighty and merciful God, who shows your love to all your creation. We come before you asking for a quick control of the Coronavirus currently ravaging our world. Hear graciously the prayers we make for those affected by the virus in various parts of the world. Grant healing to the sick, eternal life to the dead and consolation to the bereaved families. We pray that an effective medicine to combat the sickness be speedily found. We pray for the relevant governments and health authorities that they take appropriate steps for the good of the people. And in the midst of this, keep us strong in faith, hope and love. Grant us the courage and perseverance to be good neighbours”. I miss all our students and teachers. I want our students to know that even though we are not together all of you are still very much loved. I pray that you have a safe time and be at your best while spending days away from school. It’s only a matter of time before we get together and relive the excitement of school life. May this year be about choosing joy, happiness and gratitude. Stay safe !!!. Sr. Jancy Joseph SSpS Principal
